KarynKaryn Mikkelsen-Tillet - Executive Director

I am honored to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of the Alliance Française.  As a French and American citizen, I understand what it is to share a love and appreciation of both cultures, like many of you.  I have more than 8 years of nonprofit leadership experience in the U.S. and a background of teaching English as a second language while living in France.  I look forward to increasing the visibility of the AF in Seattle and establishing more community partnerships and more collaboration to create current and exciting events for AF.  To share the French language and culture with the Seattle community is une chance inouïe for me.  I welcome your suggestions as to how we can grow the Alliance Française together.  Je vous remercie et à bientôt!

Marie-AngeMarie-Ange Wood - Educational Director

I have been teaching French as a foreign language for over 20 years, first in Great Britain and since September 2008 at the Alliance Française de Seattle. After teaching at the Alliance for two years I am looking forward to sharing my experience and knowledge of French culture and language with members and students in this new role. I am excited by the new opportunities that are currently underway, including thematic courses, an educational trip to France and expanded our offerings for children. Being French I love the connection that the Alliance offers between Francophones and Francophiles. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your suggestions and ideas. A très bientôt à l'Alliance!

nicoleNicole Pennebaker - Event & Communications Manager

I feel truly fortunate to be working at the Alliance in Seattle. I was involved for quite a few years with the Alliance in Albuquerque and what impresses me the most about the organization in both places is the enthusiasm of the members. Their passion for French and Francophone culture and language and participation with the Alliance school and events is infectious. Having the opportunity to work in a place that brings people from many different cultures and experiences together around their shared interest in the mission of the Alliance Française is incredibly fun and rewarding.
