Join Executive Chef, Bruce Naftaly for Le Gourmand's 3-hour lecture/demonstration with a focus on classic French cooking using local, organically grown ingredients.

The meal will be prepared in real time from raw ingredients to finished dish. Complex technique is broken down into simple steps, allowing you to reproduce these dishes at home. Many sauces will be featured and wine is offered to the cooking students!

This landmark exhibition is travelling to only three cities in the U.S., and Seattle is its first American stop! The Seattle Art Museum has collaborated with the Alliance Française to bring you an insider's view of this rare exhibition. The evening will include a wine and hors d'oeuvre reception. A curator from the museum will give a presentation created uniquely for the Alliance Française de Seattle about the exhibition's journey from Paris to Seattle and a tour of the exhibition will follow the reception.

Steve Smith is best known as Rick Steves' France tour guide in several episodes of Travels in Europe on public television, and as the co-author of Rick's France and Paris guidebooks. Come hear him speak about new adventures and old favorites when travelling to France. Presentation followed by Question and Answer session.

 

 

 

Steve and RickBio - Steve's love for the farmhouse he and his wife renovated in Burgundy-where he lived for several years-is rivaled only by his passion for Volkswagen Westphalia campers. Steve spends his summers leading tours and researching guidebooks for Rick Steves' Europe Through the Back Door. When he's in the US, Steve heads up Rick's Tour Operations department, sending thousands of happy travelers to Europe each year.
