Official exam center

The Alliance française of Seattle offers tests and diplomas based on the same levels as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

The tests (TEF and TCF) are reliable measurements for determining proficiency and are only valid for a period of time. The diplomas are similar to university degrees in that they confirm language proficiency and are valid for life.


DELF Prim (ages 8-11)
is an official diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the proficiency in French as a Foreign Language of children ages 8 to 12.

DELF Junior (ages 12+)
is a specially adapted version for juniors/teenagers of the DELF diplomas.


are official certifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education certifying level of fluency in French. Useful for school records and college and job applications in French-speaking countries. Scores valid for life.

The TEF – Test d’Evaluation de Français is designed to assess the level of French language of people who are not native French speakers. It is useful if you need to evaluate your French skills for Canadian Immigration, French Universities or for work.

The TEFaQ is a specific version of the TEF which has been elaborated on the request of the Ministry of Immigration and Cultural Communities of Québec (MICC) to assess French language competency in those wishing to emigrate to Québec.
