La Chorale de l’Alliance Française de Seattle
The Alliance Française de Seattle has been proud to offer the only French language choir in Seattle for the past 5 years. “La Chorale” is a fun and unique way members of our community participate in promoting the French laguage and Francophone cultures in Seattle, combining their appreciation for music with that of the French language.
Our choir meets every quarter on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9pm and holds annual performances at events like French Fest, and our Bastille Day parties and Marché de Noël. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a new singer, an elementary-level French speaker or bilingual, our choir is open to everyone, and it’s a great way for you to to combine your love of music with your love of French. Our choir is led by a professional director dedicated to help you learn to become a stronger chorister and expand your knowledge of chorale music.

Our new Choir Director
Now in our 6th year, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Liz Frazer as our choir director, who is excited to take on new projects and performances in 2017. She received her doctorate in vocal performance in 2012 and has been working as the Director of Music at Soapstone UMC in North Carolina for the last five years, along with running a private voice studio, and teaching at a local community college. Along with conducting, Liz is an accomplished classical soprano as well as voice teacher. She is excited to join the Alliance Française de Seattle team and looking forward to getting started as Choir Director!
“Membre de la chorale de l’Alliance française de Seattle depuis sa formation, j’invite chaleureusement tous ceux qui veulent partager avec nous ce moment de détente hebdomadaire à nous rejoindre. L’ambiance est très sympathique et notre directeur Liz, super pro et dynamique.”

“Singing is the best way to acquire a good accent in a foreign language. Wen teaching dialects, I always get my students to sing in the dialect to get the right pronunciation. Embedded in folk music is the intonation pattern of any foreign language. La Chorale de l’Alliance Française de Seattle teaches pronunciation and a lot of vocabulary while we are having fun.”
