Come join us on Thursday, 30 November 2017 at 6:30pm in the library for the screening of Jour de Fête (“The Big Day”), a French comedy by Jacques Tati in his debut as director. François is an happy and slightly gullible postman who lives in a small, quiet town. He likes his job and does it in a very casual manner, regularly taking breaks from his biking-related duties to engage in small talk with the locals. Things change when a travelling fair comes to town and organizes a screening about the more efficienttransportation methods used by the United States postal system. After a night of too much drinking, François starts to americanize his methods to speed up the mail delivery and this is absolutely hilarious.
