Oral communication B2 Eve, Tue, Oct 15 – Nov 12, 6.30PM-8.30PM
  • Eligible hours weekly: 2
  • Eligible hours for the whole session: 10
  • Instructor: Pauline Chateau, MA in French as a Foreign Language (Didactique FLE)
  • General description: Using a communicative approach based on the most current material and techniques, your instructor will help you converse naturally, fluently, and effectively in French.
  • Specific objectives for Clock Hours participants:
    • Improve oral expression and comprehension through the use of contemporary written and audiovisual documents;
    • Improve knowledge of French and francophone societies;
    • Develop specialized vocabulary and grammar structures in order to improve students’ capacities for debate and expand their analytical skills in French;
    • Develop skills related to the use of new technologies in FLE classes (smartboard, video).

DELF Prep A2, B1, B2 Workshop, Sat, Nov 2, 2019, 9.30AM-12.30PM

  • Instructor: Aimie Shaw, PhD in French Language and Literature, DELF/DALF Examiner
  • General description: A 3-hour workshop designed to help you prepare for the DELF A2, B1, and B2 exams. You will be provided with a comprehensive review of all the sections, effective study tips and strategies, and a practice exam with constructive feedback.
  • Specific objectives for Clock Hours participants:
    • Review the description of the A2, B1 and B2 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFL);
    • Review the content of the DELF A2, B1, and B2 examinations;
    • Provide the clock hours participants with tools to prepare their students for the DELF A2, B1, and B2 examinations.

B2 Intensive Review, Mon-Fri, Dec 9-13, 9.30AM-12.30PM

  • General description: An intensive 1-week, 3-hour daily from Monday to Friday, designed to strengthen all major skills acquired during the B2 level—speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Specific objectives for Clock Hours participants:
    • Improve specific skills of the B2 level;
    • Develop skills related to the planning of a review program for advanced learners;
    • Develop specialized vocabulary and grammar structures in order to improve students’ capacities for debate and expand their analytical skills in French;
    • Develop skills related to the use of new technologies in FLE classes (smartboard, video).
