On October 25, 2019, AFSeattle is holding its annual Fundraising Gala at Seattle’s iconic Rainier Club. We are delighted to invite you to join us for this evening of Francophile delight in support of our educational and cultural programs, in the presence of the Consul General of France in San Francisco, Emmanuel Lebrun-Damiens.

Program of the evening: Cocktail, Silent Auction, Seated 4-course Dinner, Raise the Paddle & Dancing.

Jean-Baptiste Del Amo is one of France’s most exciting and ambitious young writers. Animalia, his fourth novel (Gallimard / Grove Atlantic) is his first to appear in English. The Alliance Française de Seattle is delighted to welcome Jean-Baptiste Del Amo in Seattle as part of his US tour to discuss Animalia and his work. Fête de la Musique // MUSIC DAY CONCERT // June 21, 2019 at 7pm – Chapel of the Good Shepherd Center

To celebrate the Fête de la musique on June 21, AFSeattle invites you to enjoy two exciting performances in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Center. The AFSeattle French Choir performance will cover a variety of songs from the Renaissance to French pop and jazz, while pianist and composer Steven Luksan and soprano Liz Frazer will perform songs from the romantic era to modern pop.

May 9 marks Europe Day, a worldwide celebration of peace and unity in Europe since 1950. On this occasion, join us for an exhibition opening, a reception, and a program of short films in the presence of representatives of France and Germany.

Regards sur la France – Photography Exhibit by Michael Sobel

The Alliance Française de Seattle is delighted to present the work of photographer Michael Sobel. A long time Francophile, Francophone and friend of the Alliance Française de Seattle, Michael Sobel offers a unique look into France, its culture, people, and landscapes, and the emotions that they inspire.

The exhibit can be viewed from April 26 to June 29 in the office and classrooms of the Alliance Française during business hours.

The Alliance Française de Seattle presents an exclusive look at its historical, cultural and institutional archives, from the early 20th century. Get a unique peak into Seattle’s long history of French-American friendship!

The exhibit will be open from March 18 to April 19, 2019.

French Cinema Series at Grand Illusion, in collaboration with Scarecrow Video

The Alliance Française de Seattle proposes a program of classic French films rarely seen in the US, in collaboration with Scarecrow Video and Grand Illusion. Three films by renowned French authors will offer the opportunity to discover, or enjoy again, what makes French cinema unique: the telling of stories about human characters like no others.

The Alliance Française de Seattle takes part in the 2019 edition of Festinema Junior, a film education program for youth showcasing French films for students ages 4 to 18 across the USA.

  • Registration mandatory before February 22, 2019 (Limited seats available. First come, first served basis)

Saturday, January 12, 2019 | 3 – 5 pm | The Good Shepherd Center #202

Join the Alliance Française de Seattle and the Union des Français à l’Etranger (UFE) to celebrate the Epiphany and its traditional Galette des rois! The galettes will be provided by French Bakery La Parisienne for an authentic experience. As the tradition goes, a charm (fève) will be hidden in each galette, and the lucky one to find it will become queen or king for the day.

Some cider, wine and soft drinks will be provided.

On Friday, November 30th, l’Alliance Française de Seattle is holding its Annual Fundraising Gala Dinner at the Rainier Club. Please join us for a memorable evening, while enjoying a 4-course dinner, music, dance, and much more.

You will have a chance to participate in a silent auction to win great prizes and fun activities from local and national vendors supporting l’Alliance Française de Seattle. All profits will fund our upgrading projects—new computers for our classrooms, contemporary literature and new movies for our French library, original class materials for our youth learners’ classes.

This event is conducted mainly in English.

Join the Alliance Française de Seattle this October for a wine tasting with Jean Claude Beck.

Jean-Claude Beck, member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance Française de Seattle, comes from several generations of French winemakers. His family, from Alsace, has cultivated wine on a small village south of Strasbourg on the eastern slopes of the Vosges mountains since the 1500′s. Jean-Claude Beck has demonstrated expertise in the cultivation of various grape varieties in California and Washington State. He is now starting a new project, born of experience and passion–Le Bec Fin by Chateau Beck.

This wine tasting will be composed of three wines from Le Bec Fin specifically selected by Jean-Claude Beck himself: vin blanc, vin rosé, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
