1.   DELF Tout Public

 

a.    The DELF/DALF Tout Public

The Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) and Diplôme approfondi en langue française (DALF) are diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify non-Francophone candidates’ proficiency in French. 

For students (12- to 17-year-old) enrolled in a secondary school program, please refer to DELF Junior (see number 2).  

The Alliance Française de Seattle (AFSeattle) is an official exam center for the DELF/DALF and will hold the 2025 sessions in the conditions described below. 

b.    2025 Sessions of the DELF/DALF Tout Public at AFSeattle

All levels of the DELF/DALF Tout Public exam, from A1 through C2, will be offered in the March, June and December 2025 sessions. The DELF/DALF sessions have fixed schedules for the common written parts—oral comprehension, written comprehension, and written expression. Candidates must arrive on time, otherwise their access to the exam room will be denied. Candidates will have t``o sit together in the same classroom during the common parts of the exam.  

The oral expression part is individual and will be scheduled at AFSeattle as follows: 

  • March Session: between date of written exam and March 16, 2025 
  • June session: between date of written exam and June 22, 2025 
  • December session: between date of written exam and Dec 21, 2025 

We will try, when possible, to organize the individual oral examinations on the same day as the common written parts, but please keep in mind that this is not always possible, since the schedules are established according to the jury members’ availability. Registered candidates will receive their personal interview schedule (date/time) by email no later than: 

  • February 21, 2025, for the March session 
  • May 30, 2025, for the June session 
  • November 28, 2025, for the December session 

Oral exams will take place in-person at AFSeattle. 

Steps to register for a DELF/DALF in 2025: 

  • Complete the registration form during the registration period: 
  • Registration dates for the March session: Jan 13 – Feb 21, 2025 
  • Registration dates for the June session: Apr 21 – May 30, 2025 
  • Registration dates for the December session: October 20 – Nov 28, 2025 
  • Registration opens at 9am Pacific time and closes at midnight. 
  • Complete the payment 
  • You will receive an email with your scheduled oral interview no later than: 
  • February 21, 2025 for the March session 
  • May 30, 2025 for the June session 
  • November 28, 2025 for the December session 
  • On the day of your exam, arrive at AFSeattle at the time indicated on your exam convocation. 

AFSeattle knows that the exams are essential for your life projects, and we are doing our best to serve you. However, we cannot accommodate special requests: the DELF/DALF will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. DELF/DALF Attestations de réussite are sent by email around four (4) weeks after the date of the exam. The diplomas are delivered three (3) to six (6) months after the exam. You can use your Attestation de réussite for official purposes. 

c.    Cancellation Policies

In case of cancellation by AFSeattle: full reimbursement.  

Cancellation deadlines: 

  • February 21, 2025 at noon Pacific time for March session 
  • May 30, 2025 at noon Pacific time for June session 
  • November 28, 2025 at noon Pacific time for December session  

In case of cancellation by candidates:  

  • Until the cancellation deadline: the exam fee is reimbursed minus a forty-dollars ($40) cancellation fee. 
  • Between the cancellation deadline and the exam date, for documented illness or other documented emergencies: upon approval of France Education international, the test can be postponed to another 2025 session, with the postponement not exceeding 12 months. 
  • Between the cancellation deadline and the exam date, with no documented cause or no shows: no reimbursement.  


   2. DELF Junior

 

a.    The DELF Junior

The Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) is a diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify non-Francophone candidates’ proficiency in French. Awarded by the French Ministry of Education, the junior version of the DELF has the same basic structure as the standard DELF, with topics adapted for young people. Candidates must be between 12 and 17 years old and enrolled in a secondary school program. The diploma awarded is identical to the DELF. The test includes a written exam and an oral exam. 

For children ages 8-12, please refer to DELF Prim (see number 3)

b.    The March 2025 Session of the DELF Junior at AFSeattle

  • On the day of your exam, arrive at AFSeattle at the time indicated on your exam convocation.

3.   DELF Prim

 

a.    The DELF Prim

The Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) is a diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify non-Francophone candidates’ proficiency in French. Awarded by the French Ministry of Education, the prim version of the DELF has the same basic structure as the standard DELF, with topics adapted for children. Candidates must be between 8 and 12 years old and enrolled in an elementary school program. The diploma awarded is identical to the DELF. The test includes a written exam and an oral exam. 

The Alliance Française de Seattle (AFSeattle) is an official exam center for the DELF/DALF and will hold the 2025 sessions in the conditions described below. 

b.    2025 Sessions of the DELF Prim at AFSeattle

All three levels of the DELF Prim exam, A1.1, A1, and A2, will be offered in March and May 2025. The DELF Prim sessions have fixed schedules for the common written parts—oral comprehension, written comprehension, and written expression. Candidates must arrive on time, otherwise their access to the exam room will be denied. Candidates will have to sit together in the same classroom during the common parts of the exam. 

The oral expression part is individual and will take place in-person at AFSeattle: 

  • For the March session: between the date of the written exam and March 23, 2025. 
  • For the May session: between the date of the written exam and May 18, 2025.  

We will try, when possible, to organize the individual oral examinations on the same day as the common written parts, but please keep in mind that this is not always possible, since the schedules are established according to the jury members’ availability. Registered candidates will receive their personal interview schedule (date/time) by email no later than: 

  • February 28, 2025 for the March session 
  • April 25, 2025 for the May session

  • About 10 days before your exam, you will receive an email with the scheduled oral interview.

  • Between April 25, 2025, at noon, Pacific Time, and the exam date, for documented illness or other documented emergencies: upon approval of France Education international, the test can be postponed to another 2025 session, with the postponement not exceeding 12 months.  
  • Between April 25, 2025, at noon, Pacific Time, and the exam date, with no documented cause or no-shows: no reimbursement.
