The Alliance Française de Seattle takes part in Festinema Junior for the fourth consecutive year!
We wish to encourage cross-cultural understanding and collaboration with the French-speaking world. As such, we are taking part in the 2019 edition of Festinema Junior, a film education program for youth showcasing French films for students ages 4 to 18 across the USA.
Created in 2014, Festinema Junior offers film screenings and lesson plans to promote French culture and language. The festival aims at introducing young audiences to subtitled foreign movies and independent films as well as teaching them to think critically in their film analysis. All participating teachers and classes will receive a portfolio with a lesson plan, created with pre- and post-screening activities to help the teachers lead their classes.
After a successful 2018 edition, which gathered 23 participating Alliance Françaises and over 10,000 students across the United States for a total of 153 screenings, we are excited to present the 2019 Seattle program and invite Seattle schools and students to participate!
